memorial day poem

Love poems are a wonderfully romantic gesture and can often express your thoughts far more eloquently than verbal communication. Poems can be the perfect way to get across what you want to say.

And if you're really motivated, you can spend half an hour of prep time reading some classical romantic poems to get your brain into the groove. Love poems need not be long, short, good, bad or ugly in order to work. Some people even write it themselves and some choose to just quote a William Shakespeare or some famous poem.

The way you express your thoughts in a poem can have a more meaningful impact than if you just say directly how you feel. Poetry remains the most erudite, yet the most innocent way to woo someone. If the deceased was a practical joker or light-hearted individual, maybe a poem that incorporates a bit of humor would remind their family of what a happy spirit that individual was.

Simplicity is the key. It can be framed, written in a card, spoken over the phone, recited one to one or even emailed if time is not on your side.
