When we we're kids back in grade school or high school we read books like Romeo and Juliet. People are sending their loved ones romantic love poems by the thousands every single day.
Poetry is a profound art form because it is so versatile and the great poets in history have used the form to show that. Poetry has been used by men and women for centuries to express feelings of love. What they're really appreciating is the time and effort invested on their behalf.
A poem should be written subtly and ensure it is not too emotional. What a person sees is unique to their experience. It clearly shows that the person sending the poem has spent a lot of time and thought for the person receiving it, rather than just purchasing a card or gift from a shop.
Many families and friends choose to write their own poems or essays about the deceased to have read at memorial services or posted on online memorial sites. A lovely memento to keep over the years is a poem.
